It’s official: Facebook now owns the Oculus VR

Oculus VR

Yes, several months after its announcement, Facebook came to reveal that the Oculus company VR, developer of the famous Oculus Rift, finally was acquired. Of course many should be confused with the “novelty” – after all, she hadn’t been purchased before?

Easy, we explain.

The fact is that it’s been some time that Facebook had announced the purchase of the company creator of Oculus Rift – and this is certainly not news to anyone who has followed the world of technology in recent months. A process as such, however, always mean an almost infinite number of lawsuits to be resolved; soon, only now the acquisition was made official.

As for the end of the process, both companies said only that “We look forward to an exciting future together, building the next computing platform and reenvisioning a way people communicate”.

Now, we wait to see if the reformulations that Facebook wants to the Oculus Rift will be for better or worse. Remembering, of course, that the purchase has generated its share of controversy and dissatisfaction on the part of the public and even developers.
